Youth Muster is an annual camp organised by the Anglican Diocese of Armidale. It introduces young people in the Armidale Anglican Diocese to Jesus Christ, and it helps them as they travel home to heaven.

In 2017, we are going to be learning from the New Testament letter of 1 Peter as we think about what it means for Christians to live as exiles in this world. It’s going to be a great weekend of fun, fellowship and learning. Don't miss out!!!!

SPEAKERS

GARY EASTMENT

Gary is the Chaplain at the University of New England, which means he’s also the senior minister of St Marks UNEchurch. He thinks this is the sweetest ministry gig in the universe, because people pay him to introduce people to Jesus, usually while drinking coffee.

He’s married to Bec and has three kids who are young enough to think he’s still cool. He knows this will end soon.

He’s relieved the Bunnies finally won in 2014, loves his ute and thinks bananas are the supreme snack.

He has a soft spot for graffiti, Kustom Kulture, motor bikes, hardware, Pearl Jam, custom T-shirts, and AFL.

He makes a habit of drinking coffee, doodling, going to concerts, watching movies, telling stories, and he loves talking with others about Jesus, sin, grace and forgiveness.

SOME HISTORY

Back in the 1950's, the vicar of Bingara, John Wagstaff wanted to gather the teenagers of the Armidale Diocese for a weekend of fellowship and learning from God's word.

He asked Graham Delbridge (Youth Director of the Sydney Anglican Diocese) for help, and John Chapman and Allen Quee were sent from Sydney to give him a hand. Over the Easter weekends of 1952 & 1953, young people from over the Diocese camped in a wool shed in Bingara and learnt about Jesus.

We've been doing the same thing for the last couple of years, as we've camped in Bingara and heard about Jesus. It's great that we get to do this again in 2017!
